I have learned many helpful skills throughout this semester that I will be able to use in future courses relating to drafting papers. One of the skills that hope to transfer to other classes is the skill of annotating and reading articles more than once to create a better understanding of the text and trying to answer questions that I left in the margins. Also, highlighting and underlining quotes in the texts also made it easier to find common themes between the articles and to craft claims to support my overall thesis. Lastly, one of my favorite skills that I learned was reading my essay out loud or having the computer read my essay, so that I could hear errors that I wouldn’t notice when I read it in my head. By listening to my essay, I could find awkward sentences that I would skim over when I read the essay over in my head.  Using these tools for long essays, helped to ease the local editing process when revising.
